  8. Opening The Destination File

To begin customizing, you must first select the program or file you intend to customize.  This program or file is referred to from now on as the "Destination File," because it is the file to which you will be installing your sounds.  The Destination File will appear on the left side of the Agent Audio window and will have its available sounds displayed in the "Destination List."

  25. Your Destination File must be a program or file that contains sounds.  Agent Audio will not accept files that do not contain sound resources.  There are four ways to open a Destination File:

  28.                               Click on the "Open Destination File" button, located at the upper-left
  29.                               corner of the Destination List area of the Agent Audio window.
  30.                               Clicking on this button will call a selection dialog window where you
  31.                               will locate and select the program or file that you wish to customize.
  32.                               This selection dialog will only allow you to open programs or files
  33.                                that contain sound resources.

  37. ¬†                                                                                  by selecting "Open Destination File"
  38.                                                                                     from the File menu on your menu bar. 
  39.                                                                                     As indicated here, the keyboard com-
  40.                                                                                     mand for this is Command-O, the third
  41.                                                                                     way to open a file

  43.                        Finally, you can drag a program or file with sound resources right into
  44.                        the Destination List of Agent Audio.

Upon opening your Destination File, Agent Audio will automatically display the available sound files within the file in the Destination List.  The list will display each sound resources name (if available) and resource identification number.  Any sound listed in the Destination List can be customized with your own sounds.

  53. The sound files you will be using to customize your Destination File are called "Source Files."  These files will be listed in the "Source Files List," located on the right side of the Agent Audio window, adjacent to the Destination List.

  68. Your Source Files do not necessarily have to be individual sounds.  You can also use other programs or files that contain sound resources.  There are six ways to add Source Files to the Source Files List:

  70. ¬†                             Click on the "Add Destination File" button on the upper-right corner
  71.                                of the Source Files List area of the Agent Audio windw.
  72.                                Clicking on this button will call a selection dialog window where you
  73.                                will locate and select programs or files that contain sound

  76.                                process to add more sounds to the Source Files List.

  81.                                                                                      indicated here, the keyboard
  82.                                                                                      command for this is Command-F.

  84. ¬†                       Perhaps the easiest way to add sounds to the Source Files List,
  85.                          especially if you need to add multiple sounds to the list, is to drag the
  86.                          sounds into the Source Files List.  Doing this automatically adds the 
  87.                          files to the Source Files List.  You can drag more than one file at a time
  88.                          to save time.

  90. The "Pro" version of Agent Audio allows you to also use .WAV, .AIFF, .AU, and other sound file formats, as well as enables you to record your own sounds right into your software.
